Despite Storm Lorenzo a Belcoo native has completed a 300km kayak of the River Shannon for charity.
Garry McGovern set off from Dowra in Cavan on the 30th of September for a five day kayak down the River ending in Killimer in Clare.
Due to adverse weather conditions caused by the storm he completed the journey two days later than anticipated, on Sunday of last week
The marathon and Iron Man athlete said that this was the most mentally demanding and dangerous challenge he had ever taken on.
