Cavan and Monaghan success at this year’s Fleadh Cheoil in Drogheda

Over 600,000 people visited Drogheda for this year’s Fleadh Cheoil.

It is also estimated that the event brought €50 million to the local economy.

And there was good news for Cavan and Monaghan at this year’s Fleadh.

In Cavan, Mullahoran claimed first place in the mixed 4-hand Céilí Dancing under 12s competition.

While in Monaghan, Phil McCaul came out on top in the Uilleann Pipes Slow Airs under 12s event.

Elsewhere, Cáit Ní Bhaoghill came first in the 15-18s English Singing competition, and Foireann Rince Mhuineacháin took first place also in the over 18s mixed 8-Hand Céilí Dancing.
