Cavan and Monaghan have both seen a drop in the number of insurance claims involving uninsured drivers.
However, Cavan’s figures have been described as higher than expected.
The data from the Motor Insurers’ Bureau of Ireland shows Monaghan saw a drop of 47 per cent in the number of claims last year – one of the biggest drops in the country.
Cavan meanwhile saw a drop of two per cent.
2,540 claims were registered with the MIBI last year which was down slightly on the figure in 2018.
