Dublin City Marathon cancelled due to Covid 19

The Dublin City Marathon for this year has been cancelled due to the Coronavirus Pandemic.

Due to be held on October 25th, the event had already been sold out.

Entries for this year are valid for 2021 while a full refund is also available.

The cancellation of the Marathon has also seen Athletics Ireland confirm that the 2020 national championship has been cancelled.

Tokyo was the last long distance run to be held prior to the lock down with just elite runners taking part, while the Boston and London races have been postponed to Autumn but they may now also be in doubt as Berlin which was due to be held in September has been cancelled.

Local Athletic clubs did get the go ahead to open from yesterday May 18th as part of the Phase 1 of the governments plans but must operate to strict guidelines.
