Over €1.6 million in funding has been announced for local health projects under the Sláintecare programme.
Minister Simon Harris today allocated €20 million for 122 projects around the country.
Among the local plans is a new Integrated Care Programme for Older People which will run in Cavan.
€700,000 will go to the project across Cavan, Galway, Wexford and Westmeath, with the aim of developing services for older people’s health and social care needs.
€260,000 is going to a project aimed at preventing trips and falls in the homes of older people, with €180,000 for a programme on the management of respiratory patients in there communities. Another €480,000 is shared among four other local projects.
