Clones is to receive over €100,000 for works in an historic area of the town.
The funding, announced by the Heritage Council this afternoon, will see six towns share in €1 million.
Clones is receiving €103,000 for works in the area around the round tower.

The project aims to "restore the setting and enhance the visitor experience" at the tower, sarcophasgus and the "Wee Abbey".
It will see the removal of intrusive infrastructure and the improving of access in the area.
