Over €110,000 for local sports projects promoting disability inclusion

Over €110,000 has been allocated to sports and activity projects in Cavan and Monaghan. Under the Dormant Accounts Funding, €113,000 will be granted to a number of local activities that target people with disabilities, people who are educationally disadvantaged or from disadvantaged areas.

€43,000 is going towards a new community sports and physical activity hub in Belturbet, with €30,500 for the further development of a similar centre in Kilnaleck.

Sports Partnerships in both counties will €10,000 towards disability inclusion programmes. Local Minister Heather Humphreys welcomed the funding saying it’s a substantial contribution to the health and welfare of communities in Cavan and Monaghan.
