€82,000 in funding has been allocated to local angling clubs throughout Cavan and Monaghan.
In total, 50 angling development projects to receive support across Ireland.
Inland Fisheries Ireland (IFI) has awarded 50 angling development projects with funding to the value of €500,000 as part of its Capital Works Fund.
The funding includes €20,364 for works to resurface the road into Bairds Shore, Between Ballybay and Rockcorry.
A small grant of €450 has been allocated to Lough Greagh Lake in Emyvale.
Funding will also go towards a new parking area at Kilrooskey lake, also known as Horseshoe lake just outside Clones.
Funding of €16,920 will be provided for road works at Hollybank Lake in Cavan and a further €3,618 will be provided for safety works at Lough Sheelin.
In Belturbet, €14,913 will go towards car parking facilities at Bun Lough while a further grant of €9,112 will be provided to upgrade the lay-by at Putiaghan Lough.
Nadreegeel Lough in Ballyjamesduff has received a grant of €16,500 which will provide for site clearance works, car park improvements and additional signage.
The funding has been welcomed by local Minister Heather Humphreys.
