A man who has reached the summit of Mount Everest twice has spoken about recovery efforts to save a man who went missing while climbing the mountain last week.
Seamus Lawless, a Trinity college professor and father of one, went missing after he reached the top of the Himalayan summit on Thursday. Efforts to undertake a recovery mission have currently been suspended due to bad weather at the summit, with conditions not expected to improve in the coming days.
A go fund me page has been set up to fund a rescue attempt and for his family. His wife Pamela McDermott is from County Monaghan. Speaking on The Wider View today, Pat Falvey spoke about the challenges to recover Mr Lawless’s body.
