Eir says it expects to have phone and internet services restored in Cootehill by tomorrow evening.
Customers on the Cavan Road in the town have faced major disruption since last Wednesday, when phone lines were cut during a burglary.
There’s been criticism of Eir’s handling of the issue, with businesses in the area without phone and internet since and claims they’ve been unable to get information from the company.
In a statement to Northern Sound News, Eir says the damage requires the replacement of 1,400 metres of cable and it’s treating the restoration of service as a priority.
It says its teams working on site expect to have work completed by tomorrow evening.
