Eirgrid’s planned interconnector to be discussed by Local Oireachtas members

Local Oireachtas members will meet with representatives from other affected constituencies in the coming days to discuss Eirgrid’s planned interconnector.

That was the outcome of a meeting this morning between Members of Monaghan County Council and local members of the Oireachtas to discuss An Bord Pleanala’s decision to approve the North-South Interconnector.

Eirgrid is planning on constructing hundreds of pylons across Cavan, Monaghan, Meath and Tyrone to connect the two electricity grids on the island.

Local Oireachtas members have decided to meet with representatives from these areas in an attempt to stop the construction going ahead.
