Emergency Services have been praised for their response to a fatal fire in Cavan town on Saturday night.
A 40 year old man was killed in the incident which took place at around 8pm on Main Street.
Two adults and a child were rescued from the building.
They, along with two members of the fire brigade, were injured during the incident and were treated at Cavan General Hospital.
A post mortem is to take place on the victim today.
He’s a foreign national who had been living in Cavan and Gardaí are working to notify his family.
