Farmers in Cavan and Monaghan are being encouraged to look after their mental health on social media.
The warning comes after a post reporting five suicides in the north Cork area within a week was found to be a false story. The story was shared hundreds of times on Facebook and through WhatsApp messaging groups. False reports of suicide are said to be unhelpful and sow the idea into the minds of vulnerable people.
