Fianna Fail councillor says Naughten’s resignation could be opportunity to underground NS Interconnector

A local Fianna Fail Councillor says the resignation of Denis Naughten should be seen as an opportunity to revisit reports on the North-South Interconnector.

Sarah O’Reilly said there was always a lack of independence between the government, Eirgrid and the report authors. She said the two recently published reports had narrow terms of reference, and didn’t take into account the views of farmers and landowners.

Speaking to Northern Sound News, Councillor Sarah O’Reilly said local ministers need to use their voice on the issue.
