A significant number of complaints were made in Cavan over unauthorised posters around the county.
The issue of ‘unsightly’ posters was raised by Fianna Fáil Councillor John Paul Feeley at a recent Cavan-Belturbet Municipal District meeting.
According to Councillor Feeley, there are a significant number of posters still up for events which have long since passed – and he says they must be taken down.
According to the Municipal District, there are up to 100 unauthorised posters in the Cavan and Belturbet areas and there have been a number of complaints in relation to them, as many are located close to dangerous junctions.
The Municipal District says it will now begin to take down unauthorised posters and begin issuing litter fines.
