The first public consultation meeting on the proposed upgrading of the N2 is taking place today. Two separate schemes will look at improving the road between Ardee and Castleblayney and from Clontibret to the border.
Similar plans were halted in 2012, however it has been put back on the agenda following safety concerns. If the project gets the go-ahead it’s estimated it will take until 2032 to be completed.
Public consultation on the works takes place in Monaghan town today and tomorrow, and next week in Castleblayney and Carrickmacross.
