Five men were charged following the discovery of articles intended for use in a break-in.
On Wednesday at approximately 11.05pm Gardai in Carrickmacross stopped a car on the Dundalk Road acting suspiciously.
On searching the vehicle they discovered the equipment, which they believe was intended to be used in order to break in to properties.
All five men were arrested at the scene, taken to Carrickmacross Garda Station and detained for questioning and subsequently charged.
One of the men appeared before Cavan District Court yesterday, while two more are before Virginia District Court today.
The other two men in the vehicle were released from the station on bail and a file is being prepared for the DPP.
