Free public Wi-Fi is now available in Monaghan and Carrickmacross.
The formal launch of the initiative is taking place today at one of the internet hotspots in the centre of Monaghan town.
Monaghan County Council are funding the delivery of the Wi-Fi which can be accessed by logging in via Twitter, Facebook or by entering some brief authentication information.
More Wi-Fi programmes are expected to be rolled out in 2017, with plans already in place for Clones, Ballybay and Castleblayney.
Local Fine Gael Councillor David Maxwell says that the amenity will help increase the amount of time people spend in the town centre and encourage people to visit the area.
