The decision to freeze the allocation of home help has been described as “financial lunacy” by a local Senator.

A lack of funding means 320 people in Cavan and Monaghan have been approved for home help but are waiting for the service to be facilitated. That’s the fifth highest figure in the country, based on HSE data released in May.
