Funeral of Monaghan couple killed in road crash taking place today

The funeral of an elderly couple, who were killed in a crash in Monaghan on Friday, will take place today. Joseph and Louise Waller, from Mullaghpeak in Emyvale, were killed when their car left the road at Killyneill Cross on the R213 road shortly before 6pm.

The couple, both in their 70s, were pronounced dead at the scene. Their funeral service will take place at 2 o’clock today in St Salvator’s Church, Glaslough, before the couple are laid to rest in the Caledon Road cemetery.

The community was said to be ‘in shock’ and full of sorrow for the family. The Orange Order’s Co Monaghan Grand Master Keith Browne said the entire the Waller family have a long association with Orangeism and he conveyed the condolences of all its members.
