Future of policing in Ireland to be discussed in Carrickmacross this evening

The Commission on the Future of Policing will host an open evening for people in Cavan and Monaghan this evening.

The commission was established last year to develop a blueprint for policing in Ireland going forward. They are holding a number of events around the country to gather feedback from the public as to what communities expect from a policing service.

The Commission will finish their work in September of this year, and will then draw up a report containing ideas on how improve the service into the future. Members of the public are invited to the event in the Civic Offices in Carrickmacross this evening between 6pm and 8pm.

The Chairperson of the Commission, Kathleen O’Toole says she’s delighted that the Commission will be in the border region as part of the nationwide meet and greet programme.
