GAA targeting mid June for a return to sporting action

The GAA’s targeting the 15th of June as a potential date for the resumption of games.

The association has also confirmed the Connacht Football Championship clash between London and Roscommon has been cancelled.

That game was due to take place in Ruislip on the 3rd of May but like the meeting of New York and Galway, it’s now off due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

That date would also see all fixtures in the Ulster championship having to be re-scheduled.

Cavan and Monaghan were due to get the action underway on May 10th in the preliminary round with the meeting of Fermanagh and down in the last of the quarter finals on May 24th.

The hope of returning in mid June is that it will also allow a lead in time to give players to build up the requisite fitness
