Gardaí in Castleblayney ask businesses to be vigilant following reports of counterfeit notes

Gardaí in Castleblayney are asking businesses to be vigilant following reports of counterfeit notes in circulation.

The Gardai in the area received a report of three individuals acting suspiciously in the town on Friday and it was established that two males and a female had arrived in town to pass out counterfeit €20 notes.

All three were arrested and found to be in possession of a large quantity of these notes and were later charged to appear at Carrickmacross District Court.

Members of the Gardaí have thanked the members of the community who brought this case to their attention but have also advised retailers and staff to be on the lookout for this type of activity and report any suspicious activity.
