There’s less than a week to go before the abolition of mobile phone roaming charges in the EU.

It’s also good news for people living along the border who may have received big phone bills after their phone connected to a UK network without their knowledge.
Ruth Deasy is press officer with the EU Commission office in Ireland. She says calls and texting from other EU countries will cost the same as here but data charges will vary between phone companies.
