The Government needs to invest in domestic and sexual violence services in Cavan and Monaghan.

The CEO of Women’s Aid has again called for more to be done to support services locally that cannot cope with demand.

Tearmann Domestic Violence Service is based in the region but there is no refuge for people fleeing abuse and they’re forced to travel to other counties.

Sarah Benson has today urged people to be aware of the signs of domestic abuse and to not be afraid to seek help for themselves or reach out to help a friend or family member.

The Gardaí have made tackling domestic violence a priority as the country is now in its second lockdown.
