GP shortages a damning indictment of Governments failed health policy

Chronic GP shortages are a damning indictment of the Government’s failed Health Policy.

That’s the view of Fianna Fail Senator Robbie Gallagher who believes the issue must be addressed as a matter of urgency.

He says GP’s are under immense pressure, working long hours, seeing more patients and taking on more on-call work.

Senator Gallagher has called on the Health Minister Simon Harris to address the Seanad in relation to falling GP numbers particularly in rural counties such as Cavan and Monaghan.
