Gyproc to install more sensors near site of Magheracloone sinkhole

Gyproc is to install more sensors close to the site of major subsidence in Magheracloone.

The company says it will install the monitors close to the main R179 Carrickmacross to Kingscourt road.

Similar monitors were put in place along the LP4900 road earlier this year after further subsidence was detected close to the road.

Gyproc says it’s working with Monaghan County Council and the Department of the Environment ahead of the installation, which will include a six week drilling programme.

It says two drilling rigs will begin work next week and the monitoring system is expected to be in place by March.
