The Health Minister says he will look into delays in opening the Group Home in Carrickmacross.

The facility, which would cater for people with physical and sensory disabilities, has lain empty since it was completed in 2017.

Despite years of questions and campaigning, there's still no date for when the home will open.

Local TD Matt Carthy says the delays have led to frustration for families who have called for the centre for well over a decade.

He says he had letters from the HSE saying they had agreed to operate the facility but he says their local response says there's no opening date due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Deputy Carthy has called for action and Health Minister Simon Harris says he'll look into the situation:
