Ballybay could see a jobs boost after the US Department of Agriculture allowed Kepak to export beef burger patties to the country.
The approval was granted earlier this week, with meat to be processed at Kepak’s Ballybay plant.
120 staff are employed at the facility and it’s hoped the approval will help to mitigate against the potential impact of Brexit.
A delegation from the company is in New York to meet potential customers from restaurants and supermarkets.
