IFA says it will make sure local beef farmers are paid new support package

The IFA says it will keep the pressure on the Government to ensure beef farmers in Cavan and Monaghan are paid Brexit supports.

Earlier today, a 50 million euro fund to support Ireland’s beef sector was agreed by the European Commission. Under the plan, the government here can match the figure, bringing the total potential aid package to 100 million euro.

The Taoiseach says the aid package for beef farmers will be delivered to them “over the next couple of months”. Speaking on The Wider View, IFA President Joe Healy said he won’t accept delays in payment.
