Increase in the number of Civil Servants working locally since 2006

There’s been an increase in the number of Civil Servants employed in the Shannonside Northern Sound region over the past 10 years.

The figures from the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform show just over 1,800 (1,852) Civil Servants were working here in September.

The figure has steadily increased over the past 10 years, up from 1,200 (1,197) in 2006.

Monaghan has the lowest number of Civil Servants according to the figures at 154, with Longford having the highest number locally at 610.
