Bridie Smyth died on Tuesday, 26th May 2026, suddenly but peacefully in the care of the staff of Cavan General Hospital. Surrounded by her loving family.
Bridie is predeceased by her husband Jimmy, her parents; Frank and Mary Anne, her brothers; John and Vincent and her sister Maureen.
She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her sons; Colin (Agneta), Michael (Sinead) and Jimmy (Rose), daughters; Lisa (Ciaran Maguire), Fiona (Joe Treanor) and Ciara (John Heneghan). Bridie will be also missed by her cherished grandchildren; Susanna, Richard, Conor, Cian, Orán, Aoife, Áine, Adam, Sinéad, Orla, Sadie, Jenny, Bridie, Seamus, Eddie, Laura, Sarah Mae, Amy and Darragh, her two great grandchildren; Freya and Chloe, her sisters; Philomena and Eileen, her brother James, brothers in law, sisters in law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.
Reposing at her home, Cornasoo, Dunraymond (H18N562), on Wednesday (27/05/2026) from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. and on Thursday (28/05/2026) from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m.
House private at other times please.
Removal on Friday (29/05/2026) at 10.15 a.m., arriving at St. Michael’s Church, Corcaghan for funeral Mass at 11 a.m.
Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
