Gearóid (Gerry) Lynch died on Monday, 30th March 2026. Peacefully in the tender loving care of his family and the wonderful staff at Cavan General Hospital. Following an illness borne with great strength and courage.
Predeceased by his father Owen.
Sadly missed by his loving wife Tara, his children; Orán, Lorcan, Emma and Eoin. Lovingly remembered by his cherished mother Maura, his brothers; Cathal (Karen) and Damien (Stephanie), his devoted sister Marese. Remembered by his nephew Noah, parents-in-law; John and Marie, sister-in-law Sinéad, brother-in-law Cillian (Valerie). Deeply regretted by his aunts, uncles, extended family, neighbours. Missed by his many friends, especially his colleagues and friends in the chef and hospitality community and his dedicated team at The Olde Post Inn.

Gearóid will repose at St. Aidan's Church, Butlersbridge (H12W0C0) on Tuesday evening 31st March from 5pm, concluding with prayers at 8pm. Remains will be removed to St. Aidan's Church Butlersbridge Wednesday 1st April arriving at 1pm for Funeral Mass, followed by burial afterwards in St. Aidan's Cemetery.
