Gortnawinney, Clones, Co. Monaghan (H23 NX22) and formerly of Tonitygorman, Magheraveely, Co. Fermanagh.
Gerard (Gerry) Courtney died on Friday, 24th April 2026, peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family.
Predeceased by his parents Catherine and John Courtney, his sisters and brothers, and his son in law Hugh McCague, and his grand daughter Chloe Courtney.
Gerry will be sadly missed by his loving wife Gretta, his children; Siobhán, Declan (Beth), Eddie (Paula), Eugene (Catherine) Damien (Roisín), Deirdre, Mairead (Chris) and Aidan (Nora), and his much-loved grandchildren; Breandan, Noel, Madailein, Calvin, Levana, Rebecca, Georgia, Gerry, Eoghan, Eiméar, Darragh, Aoife, Aidan, Gráinne, Lochlann, Keely, Ciaran, Niamh and Dáithi, sisters-in-law Madge, Mena and Kathleen, extended family members, neighbours and friends, and by all who knew and loved Gerry.
Reposing at the family home (Eircode H23 NX22) on Saturday from 3.00pm to 9.00pm and on Sunday from 3.00pm to 8.00pm. Family time at all other times, including Monday morning.
Removal from the family home on Monday at 10.20am, arriving at the Sacred Heart Church, Clones, for Funeral Mass at 11.00am followed by burial in Mount St. Oliver’s Cemetery.
