James (Jimmy) Smith, passed away peacefully on Friday the 8th May, 2026 at Cavan General Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
Predeceased by his Father Peter and Mother Susan, sisters Margie and Carmel, brothers Charlie, Peter, Austin and Frank and Nephews Rory and Andrew.
Jimmy will be sadly missed by his devoted wife Margaret, his daughters Martina (Jim), Adrienne (John), Siobhan (Paddy), Carmel (Ger), Sinead (John) and his son Seamus (Bernie). Lovingly remembered by his cherished grandchildren Shane, Laura, Cian, Eoin, Sorcha, Aine, Eabha, Keelan, Hannah, Dylan ,Grace, David, Aaron, Mark, Leah , Alice, and Ben. Deeply regretted by his brothers Tony and Noel, and his sister Mary. Forever missed by his brother and sister in- laws and many nephews and nieces.
Reposing at Clerkin Funeral Home, Milltown, Monaghan, H18 YF22, Sunday 10th May 2026,, from 3pm to 7pm.
Jimmys family will walk alongside him from his home to Macartans Cathedral , for funeral mass Monday 11th May, 2026, at 11am , followed by burial at the old graveyard, Latlurcan.
House is strictly private at all times.
