Mary Mc Dermott (née Sweeney) passed away on Wednesday, May 13th, 2026. Peacefully surrounded by her devoted family.
She is now with her beloved husband Jim Joe Mc Dermott, her dear grandchildren Fionn and Leonard and her parents and siblings who have predeceased her.

Sadly missed by her loving children Rory (Evelyn), Mona (Michael), Ronnie (Patricia), Fergus (Gráinne), Emmet (Ashley), Donie (Niamh) and Roger (Siobhán), her brother John (Kathleen) and sister Rita, her adored grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family wish to thank all of the staff at St Mary’s nursing home and her wonderful carers from the Alzheimer’s Society, Monaghan Branch who supported Mary through her long journey with Alzheimer’s disease.
Mary will repose at her daughter’s residence in Ballinode (H18A294) on Friday 15th May from 2pm - 9pm. Mary's funeral procession will arrive to St Mary’s Church, Urbleshanny on Saturday morning for 11am Funeral Mass, followed by burial in adjoining cemetery. Family flowers only please, donations if so desired to "The Monaghan Branch, Alzheimer’s Society of Ireland" to Clerkin Funeral Directors or by Donation Box.
Funeral Mass will be live streamed though Tydavnet Parish RC Churches Facebook page.
