Maureen Hughes (née McMahon) passed away on Sunday, May 17th, 2026. Peacefully, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, in her 93rd year.
Predeceased by her parents Michael and Bridget McMahon and her sister Peggy Walsh.
Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her loving husband Benedict, her sons James, Fr. Ben and Michéal, her daughters Bríd and Roisin, son-in-law Tommy, daughter-in-law Imelda, her cherished grandchildren Maria, Ellen, Cáit, Michael and Meadbh, her brother James (Donaghmoyne), her sister Maisie Maughan (Mayo), her brother-in-law, sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.
Reposing at Kieran Bros. Funeral Home, Hall Street, Kingscourt, A82 R3W2, on Tuesday 19th May from 3pm to 7pm. Removal on Tuesday evening to St. Patrick & St. Brigid’s Church, Meath Hill, arriving for 8pm via Ballyhoe Cross. Funeral Mass on Wednesday, 20th May at 11am, followed by burial afterwards in Drumconrath Cemetery.
