The HSE confirmed on Friday evening that opening hours at the Minor Injuries Unit in Monaghan town are to be extended to weekends. The service says the Unit will open Monday to Sunday from the 8th of July next.
Cathaoirleach of Monaghan County Council, Cllr Sean Conlon, spoke to the Wider View this week about these latest developments. And he began by highlighting how the move was long overdue.
