Local pet represents Cavan in national competition. The search for Ireland’s most beloved pet has reached a major milestone.  The final 32 pets selected for the 2025 Nose of Tralee competition!

From over 1,550 entries, one pet from each of the 32 counties selected to represent their county; in this heart-warming national contest.

Moreover, now in its 12th year; dogs, cats and a goat have captured the hearts of the public with their stories charm and cuteness. Each finalist will now don their official County Nose Sash.  They now e-enter the competition with a new photo and updated entry.

Finalists will have until the 20th July to submit their updated entry before the final public voting stage opens on the 24th July.

The 2025 Nose of Tralee winner will be crowned on the 19th August, following a nationwide vote to determine who will take home the title.

Patrick the cat is representing Cavan in the national completion. Ronan Gargan has been speaking to Patrick's owner Daniel McCarthy about his pet being named the Cavan winner and about his endeavours to be crowned the overall winner.
