Local woman calls out 'gender imbalance' in new Government. The National Women's Council has expressed its deep disappointment at the significant gender imbalance in the new Government. Indeed, there are only six women amongst the record number of 23 Junior Ministers. Furthermore, this follows the decision to decrease the number of women in the Cabinet from 4 to 3.
Monaghan woman, Rachel Coyle, is Head of Campaigns and Mobilisation with the NWC. Jodie Curran spoke with Rachel. She not only expressed her disappointment, but also outlined what changes could be made to improve the situation:
