Co Monaghan registered the fourth-largest increase in new .IE domains in 2021 when compared to pre-pandemic levels.
Meanwhile, Co Longford was first place in terms of new domain registries over the same period.
David Curtin, Chief Executive of .IE, says it is in response to the growing awareness of how vital e-commerce it for small and medium businesses.

However, he also warned about potential cyber security issues that lie in wait for domain owners who have lax security measures in place.
