Deputy Brendan Smith called for the implementation of a refuge centre in Cavan and Monaghan for victims of domestic and gender based violence, in the Dail this week.
He says the region needs a centre and spoke about the zero tolerance approach to all forms of violence and abuse that the Government is now taking.
Speaking to the Wider View, Deputy Smith began by explaining why he raised the matter in the Dail.
