134 EV grants paid out locally so far this year

134 electric vehicle grants have been paid out in Cavan and Monaghan so far this year.

The Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland offers grants for purchasing new battery-electric vehicles. The grant amount is up to €3,500 for qualifying vehicles with a full price between €14,000 and €60,000. So far this year, 59 of these grants have been paid out in Monaghan and 75 in Cavan. Government targets are aiming to have 30% of the private car fleet as electric by 2030.
