There were 172 main investments paid in The Solar Capital Investment Scheme in the Northern Sound region.
That's according to figures given by Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine Martin Heydon, in response to a parliamentary question.
Deputy Padraig O'Sullivan asked for figures on the annual uptake of the scheme since it opened.
The Solar Capital Investment Scheme (SCIS) is one of eleven sub-schemes under the Targeted Agriculture Modernisation Scheme (TAMS 3).
In Cavan the number of main investments paid was 55, while in Monaghan it was 72.
In his response the Minister noted that the SCIS has been hugely popular to date, with 5,529 application received nationally from farmers wishing to invest in renewable energy and reduce dependence on fossil fuels.
Nationally a total of 3,281 approvals have been issued under the scheme.
While payments of €27.7 million have issued to 1,483 applicants, an average payment of €18,695.87.
