There are currently 18 people waiting on trolleys in Cavan General Hospital.

All 18 patients are waiting in the emergency department at the hospital with no patients on trolleys in wards or elsewhere in the facility.

The figures were released by the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation Trolley Watch report.

Nationally, 683 admitted patients are waiting for beds this morning, according to today's INMO Trolley Watch.

424 patients are waiting in the emergency department, while 259 are in wards elsewhere in the hospital.
