Fine Gael’s Alan Johnston has been elected Cathaoirleach of the Monaghan Municipal District.
Cllr Johnston paid tribute to the outgoing Cathaoirleach of the MD Seamus Treanor for his dedication and service to the people of North Monaghan not only for the last year but since he’s been first elected in 2009.
Cllr Johnson said his first job was to represent the people of Monaghan Municipal District to the best of his ability and he would promote all that is great about Monaghan at every opportunity.
Meanwhile, Fianna Fáil’s Seamus Coyle has been
elected the Cathaorleach of the Ballybay-Clones Municipal District.
He said he was greatly honored and humbled to have been elected to the role and he said appreciated his colleagues for their unanimous support.
