Over 2,000 farmers across the Northern Sound region have applied for the Fuel Income Support Scheme.
That's according to figures released by the Minister for Agriculture, Martin Heydon.
The Fuel Income Support Scheme was introduced as a targeted income support to assist farmers and agricultural and forestry contractors facing unprecedented increases in fuel costs.
Nationally, 32,417 farmers have applied for the scheme online, with over 2,000 additional paper applications.
In Co. Cavan, 1,189 farmers have applied for the scheme.
Meanwhile, in Co. Monaghan 1,014 applications have been submitted.
