A total of 22 people in the Northern Sound Region under the age of 65 are living in nursing homes.
According to freedom of information figures, there are a total of 1,253 people under the age of 65 living in nursing homes around the country.
This is almost three years after an independent State investigation called for immediate reform of the situation. The vast majority of these are aged between 40 and 65.
