31 new housing posts have been created across the Shannonside Northern Sound Region.
Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, Darragh O'Brien approved the measure to ensure that councils are equipped better to fulfil their housing needs.
In the Northern Sound Region Monaghan has 8 new posts while Cavan has 6.

In the Shannonside Region Longford will have 7 new posts, there will be 6 in Roscommon, and 4 in Leitrim.
Local TD Niamh Smyth says these roles will vary from Senior Engineer, Senior Architect to Administrative Officer role or Staff Officer roles:
