A group of local men from the region are cycling 642km from Malin to Mizen in aid of Cavan Monaghan palliative care.
Nine lads that include eight from Co Cavan and one from Longford began their challenge this morning at 6am.
The cycle takes place from Malin Head to Mizen Head over the next four days covering over 640 kms.
The guys have already amassed €10,000 through their go fund me page prior to traversing from the most northerly point to the most southerly point of the country.
The lads have decided to take on this gruelling challenge in an effort to make a difference and help out the local palliative care service who has done so much for so many families from across Cavan and Monaghan.
The group of cyclists is made up of Stephen Crowe, Kenneth Mc Manus, Shane O Neill, Mark Finnegan, Joseph Prior, Sean Grimes, Paul Carrol, Stephen Cassidy, Noel Fitzpatrick and Phillip Mc Goldrick who is driving the support vehicle over the next four days.
